Most laptop screen repairs in Toronto come to about $110 to $290 in total: labour starts at $40. The panel is what changes the total: usually $70 to $130 for a standard HD screen, and $130 to $250 for Full HD, touchscreen or high-refresh panels. The inspection and quote are always free, and we confirm the exact part and firm price before ordering anything.
Does a broken or cracked laptop screen cost more to fix than a black or flickering one?
A cracked or broken screen always needs a new panel, so it falls in the usual $110 to $290 range. A black or flickering screen sometimes turns out to be the display cable or a loose connection rather than the panel, which can cost less. We find out which it is during the free inspection, and you get the firm price before anything is ordered.
Is it worth fixing a laptop screen, or should I buy a new laptop?
If the rest of the laptop works well and is less than about six years old, a new screen is almost always cheaper than a replacement laptop. If it's older, slow, or also has a failing battery, we'll tell you honestly whether the money is better spent on a new machine.
How long does a laptop screen repair take?
It depends on the part. After you drop the laptop off by appointment we inspect it and send a quote. Most panels have to be ordered for your exact model, so the replacement itself is usually one to two business days once the part arrives.
My screen has lines or is black, but it isn't cracked. Is it the screen?
Not always. Lines, flicker and a black screen can also be a loose display cable, a failed backlight or a graphics fault. We plug the laptop into an external monitor first: if that picture is fine, the problem is the panel or its cable, and if it isn't, it's the graphics or motherboard. You only pay for what's actually wrong.

Do you repair iPad or tablet screens?
No, we don't do hardware repairs on tablets or iPads, including screens. We can help with software problems on tablets, but screen and hardware replacement is for laptops and computers only.
What about a MacBook screen?
Yes, through our Mac repair service. MacBook and iMac screens use different panels and tools, so they're priced separately.
How long does a screen replacement take?
Usually one to two business days once the correct panel is in hand. We tell you the expected turnaround with the quote, not after we've already got your laptop.
Do you collect the laptop or do I need to bring it somewhere?
Drop it off at our workshop by appointment, or arrange pickup and return anywhere in the GTA. Pickup is not free: the charge depends on your location and is confirmed before you book.
