macOS reinstall from $40 · Files backed up first · Free diagnosis

Most Mac startup problems come from a failed update, a full drive, or corrupted system files. In macOS Recovery you can reinstall the system without erasing your files, but only when the drive is healthy and there is enough free space.

We check the drive before anything else. If it is failing, reinstalling can make things worse, so we copy your files off first. Then we reinstall macOS, bring your Mac back to a working state and tell you plainly if something else is wrong.

What we handle

When a macOS Reinstall or Recovery Helps

Stuck on the Apple logo or loading bar

A Mac that never finishes starting, loops, or shows a progress bar for hours after an update.

Failed macOS update

Updates that stall, roll back or leave the Mac slow, with apps crashing afterwards.

Question mark folder or no startup disk

The Mac cannot find macOS. This can be a software fault or a failing drive, and the difference matters for your files.

Slow after years of use

When tune-ups no longer help, a clean macOS reinstall gives you a fresh start.

Selling or giving the Mac away

A proper erase and reinstall, signed out of your Apple ID and iCloud, so the next owner starts clean.

Locked out or Activation Lock

We can only help with a Mac you own and can prove it. We do not bypass Apple's security.

Which option?

Reinstall macOS or Erase the Mac?

Reinstalling macOS from Recovery puts a fresh copy of the system over the old one and keeps your files and most settings. It is the gentler fix, and the one to try first for update failures and startup loops.

Erasing the Mac wipes the drive before installing, which removes everything. Choose it when selling the Mac, after a serious problem, or when a reinstall alone did not help. Back up first, because an erase cannot be undone.

Before you start

Back Up and Sign Out First

Copy anything important to an external drive or iCloud before you reinstall. If the Mac will not start, tell us and we will try to copy your files before changing anything.

If the Mac is being sold or given away, sign out of iCloud and turn off Find My first, otherwise Activation Lock can leave the next owner unable to use it.

How it works

From First Message to Fixed

  1. Step 1: Tell us what the Mac is doing

The model, year, and what you see on screen, such as the Apple logo, a loading bar or a question mark folder.

  2. Step 2: Check the drive, protect your files

We test the drive and copy your files off first if there is any sign it is failing.

  3. Step 3: Reinstall, update and test

macOS reinstalled or erased as needed, updated, and tested before you collect it.

Common questions

macOS Reinstall & Mac Recovery FAQs

Can you reinstall macOS without losing my files?

Usually yes. Reinstalling from macOS Recovery keeps your files and most settings when the drive is healthy. We still back up first, because a failing drive can lose data during any reinstall.

My Mac is stuck on the Apple logo. What now?

Do not keep forcing restarts. It can be a failed update, a full drive, or a failing drive. Message us the model and what you see. We check the drive first, then reinstall macOS if that is the fix.

How do I factory reset a MacBook before selling it?

Back up, sign out of iCloud and Find My, then erase the Mac from macOS Recovery and reinstall macOS. We can do all of it for you and confirm Activation Lock is off.

Can you fix a Mac that says there is no startup disk?

Often, if it is a software fault. If the drive has failed, we tell you before charging, and we can try to recover your files first.
